What are blood alcohol tests?
Blood alcohol tests are chemical tests used to determine a level of intoxication by measuring the level of alcohol in your blood. The result is expressed as a blood alcohol level or BAC.
Blood alcohol levels can be determined by testing your blood, breath, saliva or urine. Blood tests directly measure the amount of alcohol in your bloodstream while breath, saliva and urine tests rely on a mathematical formula to calculate your BAC level.
The accuracy of these tests can be effected by a number of human and technical variables including competence of the individual performing the test, the age and condition of the equipment used and the validity of the calculated results based on urine or breath tests. Important Notice
